Fishing

With the Guadalupe River flow being released from the bottom of Canyon Lake, the water is cold. The first 15 miles of the Guadalupe River below the dam is the trout fishing area, which also happens to be the area we recreate. It is the only year round trout fishery in Texas. Also, the southern most point in the United States that trout live year round.

Trout stocking is done by TPWD & Guadalupe chapter of Trouts Unlimited. There is also several species of bass, catfish & perch in the river. Just make sure you have a valid Texas state fishing license.

There is a nominal charge for day fishing from our campground.
